Collection of reprints of documents from the period 1777-1783, including correspondence among the governors of Dutch and British colonies and representatives of the West India Company; resolutions of the Staaten Generaal of the Netherlands; a 1778 treaty between France and the United States, and documents implementing the details of the treaty; communications from the French ambassador to the Netherlands; resolutions by the court of the Dutch province of Holland; and other documents of the period. Correspondents include the President of the island of St. Christopher, Craister Greathead; the Governor of the islands of St. Eustatius, Saba and St. Martin, Johannes de Graaf; the King of France, Louis XVI; the Hof of the province of Holland; and others.
